Black Lawyers Association Student Chapter · UFS · Bloemfontein
BLASC UFS at the University of the Free State is committed to advancing social justice, protecting member rights, and building a non-racial, non-sexist legal profession for all South Africans.
Who We Are
The Black Lawyers Association Student Chapter at the University of the Free State is committed to social transformation, upholding human rights, civil liberties, and the Rule of Law.
We fight discriminatory practices and advocate for a democratic, inclusive legal system — grounded in the ideals of democracy, freedom, and peace as an autonomous body within the BLA.
What We Stand For
Championing the rights of historically disadvantaged communities, women, and persons with disabilities through legal advocacy and awareness.
Moot court training, advocacy workshops, NPA placements, and academic programmes preparing members for professional legal practice.
Guided mentorship linking law students with experienced practitioners, alumni, and partner institutions locally and internationally.
We are the voice of UFS law students — engaging institutions, responding to legislation, and participating in constitutional discourse.
Freedom Day marches, civic registration drives, and legal awareness campaigns connecting the chapter to the communities we serve.
Transparent, accountable leadership guided by our constitution ensures every member is represented and every voice matters.
Be Part of the Movement
Membership is open to all registered UFS law students who share the values, principles, and constitutional ideals of BLASC UFS. Join for R50 annually.
